Reviews
I've been buying Michael Kenna's calendars for a few years now and they've been uniformly great. But several of the images in the 2012 edition just aren't up to the standard Michael has set in years past. Specifically, the June through September and December photos are lackluster, boring even, and don't feel like Michael Kenna photographs. One need only visit his website to see that Kenna has produced hundreds, if not thousands of amazing images from which to choose when making his calendars. My guess as to why these less than stellar images were chosen is that he wanted to broaden his range a bit and chose some works that don't necessarily feel like Michael Kenna works of the past. The calendar is beautifully printed on very nice paper, as always, and the other images are as stunning as ever. Here's hoping his 2013 calendar is a return to form.
